He was a male Schneider's skink, a species native to northern Africa. Constantine was always oblivious to his cat fans as he scrabbled around in his terrarium or basked on his log. He will be missed by the cats as well as by us.

| Sadly, Constantine died on July 19, 2001. He had not been ill, so we assume he probably died of old age. We know he was at least eight years old, but he could have been much older. | |
